New Square Music is devoted to creating square dance music that can be used by callers when working with new square dancers using modern music systems. For this reason callers and dancers may find our music:

A little slower than traditional square dance music (126 bpm or less)
  A little calmer than some square dance patter call music
   Is played by some non traditional instruments to make the music more interesting
    A little longer (our hoedown music is > 7 minutes for less looping)
     Has short introductions and endings so it is easy to loop
      Is distributed mainly in MP3 format for computers and MP3 players
       Has a strong beat, often on the down beat
        Does not sound like your grandfather's square dance music
         Is a mixture of traditional instruments, synthesizers and computers
