78. TRACK ll: Starting formation - Completed Double Pass Thru. The dancers work in "tandem", that is, the trailing dancers follow the lead dancers. Those in the right "track" move single file to the left, counter-clockwise, staying to the inside of the dancers on the left "track", who move single file, clockwise, to the right on the outside. The movement continues as in a Double Pass Thru, until the dancers have reached parallel right-hand ocean waves.
Teaching Hints:
Since the definition states that this call is done from a Completed Double Pass Thru formation, the caller should arange the dancers in this formation. If the caller has not talked to the dancers about TRACKS, now one should. Explain to the dancers that this call is done in tandem. That is, there will be a leader and a follower for both the right hand dancers and the left dancers. Caution the dancers that the following dancer must make sure they do not get ahead of the dancer in front of them. This is especially true for the right hand tandem. Explain that the Left dancers will track to the right passing the Right dancers right shoulders. They will make a wider right hand circle. The lead dancer will travel to about where a wave will be formed on the other side of the square. The trailing dancer will follow the lead dancer but stop about two steps from him where another wave will be formed. The Right hand tandem will make a quick turn to the left passing the outside track right shoulders. The lead dancer will travel to the other side of the square to form a wave with the trailing dancer in the left tandem. The trailing dancer will make a sharp turn, making sure to stay behind the lead dancer. The trailing dancer, after making the turn, will stop to form a wave with the lead dancer in the left tandem. It will be caller’s decission what arrangements the dancers will be taught from. But it is suggested that for the initial teach the normal couple arrangement of boy with girl on the right be used.
This is not recommended, but some callers may want to use the calls Partner Trade, Pass Thru, Tradeby, Step to a wave from a Completed Double Pass Thru formation prior to teaching the call Track ll. The reason it is not recommended as a teaching method is because in other programs other Track # are used. Should the dancer continue to the other program, it would be confusing.
