81. EXPLODE THE WAVE: Starting formation - Any 4-dancer ocean wave. Everyone releases handholds, steps forward and turns a quarter in (90 degrees) to face the adjacent dancer, and right hand pull by that person to end as couples back-to-back.

From a Static square establish the Parallel Waves.
The caller may want to teach this call using only one wave. If so have the Heads Pass the Ocean.

Explain that each dancer must step forward and do a 1/4 in, or face the person that is next to you facing the same direction as you. After doing that give a right to each other and pull by.

The caller should make sure that during the teach that both boys and girls can experience the call from center and end position. It is suggested that the initial teach be done with the boys on the end.

The caller might want to delay teaching this call from a tidal wave at this point as it might confuse the dancers; however, at some point it would needed to be taught from a Tidal Wave. The same procedure as above would be used.

Stress two points in teaching it. 1. You must always face the person that was standing next to you (facing the same direction you were facing) and 2. You must always give a right and pull by to end up with your back to the person you just pulled by with.
